Message from Our Alumni

The environment is continuously degrading, while the efforts to mitigate its effects to communities are slow and can be said somewhat stagnant. Be part of those who create the solution, and be among the frontliners in S&T based environmental protection and conservation.

I encourage you to seize this opportunity to make a lasting impact on our planet. Embrace the transformative journey of becoming an Environmental Science student. Together, we can create a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.

Studying environmental science will prepare you for a rewarding career in a variety of sectors, such as government agencies, non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, industries, academia, and media. You will be able to contribute to the advancement of environmental knowledge and practice, and make a positive difference in the world. If you are passionate about the environment, choose a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Central Luzon State University.

Equip yourself with all the information and knowledge you can acquire while in the University, but do not stop learning after you graduate. Also it is completely okay to make mistakes as long as you learn and rectify these. You will still learn when you land your first job, you can learn from other people you meet as you grow, you can even learn from the internet, but please do check if it is factual 😉. If one is truly passionate in making an impact in helping the environment through influencing and teaching our fellow people to understand the importance of taking care of our environment and formulating possible solutions in the conservation of our environment and impact management, taking up B.S. Environmental Science is an excellent choice as this is a multi-disciplinary career where you can choose what you will be specializing in. In my case, I first worked as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Preparer in a consultancy firm, then eventually got a job at our Municipal Environment and Natural Resource Office in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija where I was able to apply my experience from my first job to my current job as an Environmental Management staff. Disclaimer: "What works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you as well"

Hi, if you are someone who enjoys nature, travel, people, adventure — If you like writing, reading, experiments, and cool stuff — If you enjoy participation, initiative, inventions, and research – then ES might be for you! I graduated ES way back 2018; I majored in Environment Chemistry and my first job was a laboratory aide/ analyst. After that – I became an EIA preparer, and RA for biodiversity assessments. Because of these, I had the chance experience things, travel to many parts of the Philippines and meet other people – other professionals; I get to see new places, meet new people, I get to try activities I haven't tried before — it was a whole lot adventure; a whole lot of exciting possibilities. Sky's not the limit – probably. 🙌🏻”

The BSES program allows you to sharpen both technical and practical skills while also practicing critical thinking.

BSES program offers a wide range of opportunities after graduation. With my experience, you can work on the academe, research and development and including in the industry. It is contrary to what others says that you are limited to working on select government agencies or companies. In addition, perhaps similar with other prominent courses, you may be able to explore graduate studies abroad or locally.

Being an Environmental Science Student was the best years of my life. Not only did i learn love for the environment , innovation and sustainability. the professors helped me be better prepared for the "real world". and most importantly i met friends that ill keep forever.

Environmental Science is a great program/course as a background or stepping stone to more specific speciality that you would like to take in the future. We do not just focus on the environment but also on the economic and social aspects when it comes to this course. You could be in the corporate world, in the research, in the policy making, and most exciting experience is you could go to places where your study/future project will be located. In my first work as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Preparer, I got the chance to apply almost all major subjects that I took when I was still in CLSU. There were field works, stakeholders engagements, and also working with different government agencies and businesses. In the world of EIA, you could be a researcher/scientist/consultant, or you could be working in the laboratory working on the soil, water, air samples. It includes diverse fields that you will work in and the good thing about being an ES graduate is that you have the knowledge to understand these different fields, maybe not in a deeper level but in a way you could incorporate the knowledge in what you’re doing. Right now, in my second job in the Sustainability/Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) world, I am more exposed to working with the big businesses outside the Philippines, helping them create their Corporate Social Responsibility or Sustainability Report. BSES in CLSU helped me understand about sustainability that’s why I was able to get this job. This is also the new emerging job for a lot of us with background in Environmental Science. This job will ensure that businesses are in line with the existing and emerging mandatory requirements in terms of their disclosures on what are their negative and positive impacts to the environment, economy, and society. I hope that this inspires you to pursue Environmental Science as there are a lot of environmental challenges that we are facing right now, and we need more people who have a deep understanding about these things.
